New Georgia Project commissioned HIT to test effective voter mobilization messages for Black Georgians.

This Talker Call will focus on women’s reproductive rights in the U.S. It will feature our partner All* In Action Fund – Catalysts for Abortion Justice, a dynamic women of color-led powerhouse that restores and sustains public insurance coverage of abortion by educating policymakers and the public about the harm of bans and the impact on those unable to make ends meet. All* In Action Fund will share the pivotal research on their reproductive rights work and their insight into what compels policymakers and donors towards actionable decision-making.

Following an election cycle in Virginia where the issues of crime and abortion dominated the talking points of political candidates, polling among registered voters in Virginia elucidated the effect of this discussion on voting behavior.

HIT Strategies in collaboration with Lake Research Partners conducted a poll for Intersections of Our Lives – a coalition of three women-of-color led national reproductive justice organizations – looking at the connections across Black, Latina/x, and Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) women voters and their motivations and issue priorities in the 2024 election.

This report summarizes the key findings and strategic guidance from Qualboards conducted from February 28th-March 7th. Participants are likely voters, separated into two groups: those who live in states with protected abortion access, or “safe states”, or those who live in restricted or hostile abortion access, or “restrictive” states.

In the July survey, SCOTUS approval numbers dropped significantly, following the decisions on Roe v. Wade and gun violence. President Biden’s and Congressional Democrats’ approval slightly increased since the previous poll.

Independent and young progressive voters believe hyper-partisanship is a leading cause of inaction in government and that Congress is “ineffective” because it’s beholden to wealthy donors and special interests.

In the December survey, President Joe Biden’s job performance approval numbers continued to decline among Black voters, including now older Black voters, a traditionally stalwart constituency.

The results of the November BlackTrack underscore the economic hardship many Black voters face and offer insight into Biden’s declining approval numbers among Black voters.
