Publication Summary
In the weeks prior to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, HIT partnered with URGE: Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity to commission a poll of young people (18-34) on the threats to abortion access.
The representative sample of 800 respondents, with oversamples of Black, Latinx, AAPI, and LGBTQ young people, found that overwhelming numbers of young people were concerned about abortion restrictions (76%) and would be motivated to vote to protect abortion access (66%).
With young people capable of providing the margin-of-victory for pro-choice candidates, understanding their attitudes and values has become more important than ever.
