2022 Impact: 8 Highlights of 2022

2022 was quite a year at HIT Strategies. With our incredible clients and candidates, we made huge waves in the 2022 midterms, and our company reached a few milestones. Before we go too far into 2023, we wanted to share a few highlights from 2022 and acknowledge some of the dynamic candidates, clients, and partners who made it all possible. Be sure to click the images throughout to view the hyperlinks.
1. We Grew and Added More Diversity

The HIT team expanded in 2022. We now have a women-led research team, including chief research officer and founding partner Roshni Nedungadi, senior research manager Dr. Lauren Goldstein, research managers Courtney Couillard, Dr. Gabi Vitela, and Ashley Aylward, and research innovation manager Martina Smith.

Since opening three years ago, HIT has become one of the fastest-growing firms in Washington, D.C., starting with five full-time staff in early 2021 and ending in 2022 with over 30. We remain the youngest and most diverse public opinion research company in Washington. Our team lives at the intersection of the communities most underrepresented in public opinion research.

2. Poll Around and Find Out

We conducted more polls and focus groups than ever in 2022. With an average of 2 polls per week, HIT partners gained keen insight into key communities and issues shaping American discourse today.

Check out a few focus groups on HIT’s YouTube page and see more of our research on the HIT website.

3. Our research led the way on issues that determined the outcome of the 2022 midterm.
Last year, we conducted an array of research projects with our steadfast partners and clients. We tackled abortion rights with URGE and the Packard Foundation, gauged DC voter support for the Revised Criminal Code Act with DC Justice Lab, and reimagined public safety with Change Research, just to name a few.
4. HIT Strategies Turned 3 Years Old in 2022
In June 2022, HIT celebrated three years as a leading millennial and minority-owned public opinion research firm! Many of our close friends and clients said great things about working with HIT to honor our third year in business. Our clients and partners are the driving force behind the critical research, and client satisfaction remains a top priority at HIT Strategies.
5. Karine Jean-Pierre, White House Press Secretary, Keynote Speaker at HIT’s First CBC-ALC Event. Secretary Pete Buttigieg Joined the Evening Party.

In September, we hosted White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre at our first event at CBC-ALC (Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference), along with our partners Richard Media Company and Crooked Media. We celebrated the Beltway’s most pivotal media figures, including April Ryan, Eugene Daniels, Symone D. Sanders-Townsend, Geoff Bennett, Eugene Scott, Panama Jackson, David John, Juanita Tolliver, Gerren Gaynor, and Jason Johnson, to name a few. We have worked together with many journalists to amplify unheard voices in American politics. Also SPOTTED: Reps. Mondaire Jones (D-N.Y.) and Shontel Brown (D-Ohio).

We also hosted the #BlackPowerShift event during CBC-ALC Week with Crooked Media, A-B Partners, and Precision Strategies. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Representative Jahana Hayes, and Representative Lauren Underwood, among others, joined.

6. Diversifying Perspectives in Political Conversations.
HIT’s work made waves in national media, including a segment on Showtimes’ “The Circus.” Click on the image below to view a short clip from the piece. Also, Newsweek, TIME, Politico, and a host of mainstream outlets featured HIT’s work. See more examples below and click the images to read the full articles.
7. Social Media Make-Over
We increased our followers and reached hundreds of thousands through social media. We enhanced the look of our digital media with more graphics, podcast audiograms, and video clips. Social media allows us to put HIT data directly to the public. See a few examples below.
8. Thank You Partners and Clients

A special thanks to our 87 clients and partners, a few of whose logos appear below. We can’t wait to continue our incredible work with you in 2023 and beyond.

Understanding the values, attitudes, and behaviors of our key audiences is how we can deliver analytics and messaging to achieve our partners’ objectives. We thank our partners for trusting us to provide the best research and insight on the communities driving change in America.
