Majority of Black Voters Think Biden Should Run in 2024; 74% Approve of His Job Performance  
Even before an official campaign announcement, a majority of Black voters (59%) believe President Biden should run for president in 2024. And 74 percent of Black voters approve of his job performance, according to HIT Strategies’ latest survey of Black voters (BlackTrack).  
President Biden’s Approval 
Racism remains a top issue for Black voters. When asked about their top three most important issues, 37% of Black voters selected “racism and discrimination,” coming in second behind “inflation and cost of living.” 
Additionally, the January BlackTrack adds some new political figures to the favorability tracker, including newly elected Democratic House Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Senator Raphael Warnock, businessman Elon Musk, and Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy.

Lastly, the January BlackTrack revealed a significant generation gap in Black voters’ attitudes; however, BlackTrack showed no gender gap in attitudes between Black male and Black female voters.

Congressional Democrats’ Approval 
74% of Black voters approve of the job Democrats are doing in the U.S. Congress.
Supreme Court’s Approval 
50% of Black voters approve of the job the justices are doing on the U.S. Supreme Court.
55% of Black voters feel their vote has power to make change on issues that matter to them.
BlackTrack is a monthly survey by HIT Strategies to track the evolving opinions of Black voters. The recurring monthly national survey of 1,000 Black voters (ages 18+) monitors current Black voters’ attitudes on social and political issues. In addition, it disaggregates the data into demographic groups to understand the full diversity of Black voters’ attitudes.
