HIT’s latest focus groups revealed that young voters are informed about the Biden administration’s plan for student loan forgiveness. Participants showed they were aware of the proposal and, in some cases, relayed how they would personally benefit from the policy.
In one focus group, all respondents had heard of the plan for student debt cancellation.
One voter stated the policy will help low-income students.
Another voter expressed how this plan will help a lot of people amidst rising cost of living and inflation.
A young Black voter conveyed relief and how this will help professionals and others who pursue higher education.
