The Power of the Youth Vote: Shaping the Future at the Ballot Box 

Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign has sparked a wave of enthusiasm among young Black voters, helping to close a generational divide that was evident when President Biden led the ticket. Her ability to connect with younger generations, speak to their concerns, and emphasize issues such as racial justice, education, and economic opportunities has resonated deeply. The power of young women is on the rise, with more feeling empowered to drive change through their votes. Our study with Supermajority shows more than half of sporadically voting young women plan to vote for Vice President Harris and support for Harris is higher among Black and APPI sporadically voting young women.

If Vice President Kamala Harris wins, it may be thanks to record-breaking turnout from young women who, although historically less consistent in voting, are energized to support her.
