Communities want real solutions NOT the Big Beautiful Bill
Major headlines are covering Trump’s recently signed “Big Beautiful Bill,” which he has claimed as a major victory, according to The Guardian. But research from HIT Strategies and Community Catalyst paints a much different picture of what communities are demanding.

In a multi-state study of voters across the political spectrum, including BIPOC and low-income voters, respondents made it clear they want:
“Voters across the political spectrum want to see major change in the health care system… Seventy-one percent say it needs major change or be completely rebuilt. This includes 74 percent of Democrats, 75 percent of Independents, and 66 percent of Republicans.”
That includes overwhelming support for policies like removing medical debt from credit scores and holding hospitals accountable, making it clear this bill moves in the opposite direction of what voters, including Republican constituents, say they need.
Meanwhile, the bill includes major cuts to Medicaid and SNAP, deepens income inequality, and adds trillions to the national debt. Trump celebrates this as a “major win,” despite steep reductions to essential health and nutrition programs.
Our HIT and Community Catalyst research shows that voters are looking for relief from everyday rising costs and a broken health care system. Not a bill that contributes to rising costs and takes from those in need to reward the wealthy.
