HIT Strategies CEO Terrance Woodbury Named to POLITICO Recast Power List 2023

Woodbury Among List of 40 Leaders Recognized for Influence on Race, Politics and Policy

Washington, D.C. | Friday, March 31  –  Today, POLITICO named HIT Strategies CEO and Founding Partner Terrance Woodbury to the POLITICO’s Recast Power List 2023, which recognizes thought leaders on the intersection of race, politics and policy.

“The even timbre with which strategist Terrance Woodbury speaks belies the alarm bells he is setting off for leaders of the Democratic Party: innovate your messaging or run the risk of losing a key element of your base,” POLITICO wrote. “As chief executive officer and founding partner of HIT Strategies, a public opinion research firm, Woodbury has been warning Democrats that the defection of Black voters, particularly Black men, to the Republican Party cannot be ignored. … Woodbury says Black men, and more broadly men of color, are the new swing voters that both parties will have to compete for in future elections.”

Woodbury will also be speaking with POLITICO’s Brakkton Booker and U.S. Reps. Adriano Espaillat (D-NY) and Bennie Thompson (D-MS) at the POLITICO Recast Power List rollout event on April 5.

The Recast Power List acknowledges the contributions of 40 people from across the nation who are reshaping American power in a way that incorporates experiences and perspectives that are often underrepresented and overlooked in the nation’s capital.

Woodbury and Founding Partner Roshni Nedungadi have led HIT Strategies to be the nation’s leading millennial- and minority-owned public opinion research firm. HIT looks to answer questions about key issues and trends that impact underrepresented groups. How should candidates talk to men of color about jobs? How can progressives build broad support for police reform

Woodbury has focused his research on people of color, millennials, and GenZ who have been at the epicenter of ever-changing consumer and electoral trends in the United States and abroad. Before helping launch HIT Strategies, Woodbury served as the Research Director at the public opinion research firm Brilliant Corners Research & Strategies where he led polling and focus groups for candidates in local, state, national, and international elections and for companies like Uber and Google. Prior to that, Woodbury worked at the Brookings Institution, where he researched and studied economic and demographic trends influencing the fast-growing urban communities. And before being a data scientist, he worked across various roles on campaigns at the local, state, national, and international level.
