HIT Strategies has stepped into the Substack space and we couldn’t be more excited.
This is not just another social platform, but a channel for us to share our work and reflections more extensively on the cultural, economic and political forces that are rapidly reshaping our everyday life. Substack will be where we go to provide the data, analysis, recommendations and calls to action needed to understand minority voters and consumers. Our aim is to make our expertise and research publicly available for all types of leaders, changemakers, and advocates.
Each month, we’ll share content from our researchers and staff related to the cultural and political undercurrents driving change; America’s shifting electorate; the importance of market research; and other timely issues that are making headlines.
As our inaugural post, HIT’s partners published a letter that gives a glimpse into where HIT Strategies is heading for 2025 and beyond. It is both a clear-eyed reflection on where we stand in the current socio-political moment and a collective invitation to reimagine what our world could be.

“The age of managed decline is over; what comes next will be defined by our willingness to face the moment, allow ourselves to be transformed by it, and envision a new world that will require radical imagination.”
— Excerpt from Terrance Woodbury, Roshni Nedungadi, and Orie Ward’s Letter

Trusted Messengers Matter Most
“Many Latinos express valuing engagement with individuals over organizational accounts during passive scrolling. Behaviors and characteristics of individual accounts appreciated included evidence-sharing, authenticity, proximity, and approachability.”
Authenticity Drives Attention
“People are craving positivity and authenticity on social media. Joyful and/or informative and/or community-centered content stood out to participants as both engaging and desirable.”
Passive Scrolling vs. Active Search
“Many Latinos express valuing engagement with individual over organizational accounts during passive scrolling. Behaviors and characteristics of individual accounts appreciated included evidence-sharing, authenticity, proximity, and approachability.”

Combatting Misinformation
“People indicated they will share fact-checks mostly when the information personally affects them or the people around them. Most people cited they would share verifications with friends and family directly as opposed to publishing them on social media. Some people, when they suspect ‘fake news,’ will report it directly to the platforms, but many don’t understand that to be an option.”
Cultural Nuance is Critical
“Many Latinos appreciate authentic individual accounts that are geographically and culturally close to them.”

These findings remind us that effective digital outreach requires more than knowing demographics. It means understanding how people consume information, whom they trust, and what feels authentic and culturally relevant to their lived experience.
