ICYMI: HIT Strategies’ Terrance Woodbury Featured On ABC’s ‘The View’ For Research on Black Voters, Calling On Democrats To Answer To Voters

On Monday, HIT Strategies President and Founding Partner, Terrance Woodbury, was praised on ABC’s The View by co-host Sonny Hostin for his polling and political strategy work.

“I was speaking with Terrance Woodbury, he is a terrific strategy person,” Hostin said. “What he was saying is people are tired of Democrats defending the system. The rule book is gone right now and so they want an alternative for the pain that they are feeling—they want the pain to be acknowledged but then they want an answer to their pain.”

Hostin went on to say, “Terrance Woodbury does a great job” for his research into voters in Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana – highlighting the significant size of the Black population in those states and the untapped potential for mobilization.

“When you’re seeing this sort of movement to the southern states, what you’re seeing is not necessarily white voters or conservative voters, what you’re seeing is Black voters there losing their power to white voters and structural barriers to their voting.”

Woodbury has focused his research on people of color, millennials, and GenZ who have been at the epicenter of ever-changing consumer and electoral trends in the United States and abroad, including recent analysis of the 2025 political dynamic. Before helping launch HIT Strategies, Woodbury served as the Research Director at the public opinion research firm Brilliant Corners Research & Strategies where he led polling and focus groups for candidates in local, state, national, and international elections and for companies like Uber and Google. Prior to that, Woodbury worked at the Brookings Institution, where he researched and studied economic and demographic trends influencing the fast-growing urban communities. And before being a data scientist, he worked across various roles on campaigns at the local, state, national, and international level.
